Gender identity is the personal sense of a person’s own gender. Gender identity can correlate with a person’s assigned sex at birth or can differ from it. Gender is no longer seen as the same thing as sex as there are now multiple ways to identify other than male or female.
Gender stereotypes have changed over time and children nowadays should be allowed to develop their own thoughts on their gender, and their parents and carers can help them reach these decisions through different ways.
As part of the National Nursery Training Gender Identity course you will learn:
- The difference between sex and gender
- Gender identity development
- How parents/carers can help
- How gender stereotypes have changed over time
Successful candidates will be awarded the National Nursery Training Gender Identity Course Completion Certificate.
Upon Successful completion you will receive a certificate confirming course completion. Accreditation is provided by National Nursery Training.
