Oral Health Promotion in Early Years

The EYFS requires early years providers to promote children’s good oral health. This course gives practitioners practical, evidence-based ways to build oral health into everyday practice and to support families.

What you’ll learn

  • Why oral health matters in the early years and the EYFS duty to promote it
  • Setting up and running a supervised toothbrushing scheme
  • Healthy eating, sugar and drinks that protect teeth
  • Working in partnership with parents and health visitors
  • Supporting children with additional needs to access oral care
  • Signposting families to NHS dental services

On completion learners receive an NFAQ-accredited certificate as evidence for compliance and Ofsted.
