From November 2025, Ofsted replaced single-word judgements with report cards: seven evaluation areas, a five-point grading scale and a new inspection toolkit that looks at everyday practice, not paperwork. This course gets your whole setting ready for the new-style inspection.
What you’ll learn
- How early years inspection has changed and why the old grades have gone
- The report card: the seven evaluation areas and the five grade descriptors
- Inside the inspection toolkit — what inspectors look for in each area
- Safeguarding on the new report card and what ‘met’ or ‘not met’ means for your setting
- Building everyday evidence and practice so you are always inspection-ready
- What happens on the day and how to read and act on your report card
On completion learners receive an NFAQ-accredited certificate as evidence for compliance and Ofsted.
