Description
Emotion coaching gives practitioners a simple, evidence-informed way to respond to big feelings: connect with the emotion, then guide the behaviour. This course turns it into an everyday habit that builds children’s self-regulation — the skill that underpins all early learning.
What you’ll learn
- What emotion coaching is and how it differs from dismissing or disapproving responses
- The science of big feelings and the developing brain, made practical
- The steps of emotion coaching, with early-years-ready scripts
- Coaching through tantrums, tears, conflict and separation distress
- Building self-regulation across routines, transitions and play
- A whole-setting approach: consistency between adults and partnership with parents
On completion learners receive an NFAQ-accredited certificate as evidence for compliance and Ofsted.
