In-the-Moment Planning and Child-Led Practice

In-the-moment planning starts from a simple idea: the richest learning happens when adults notice what a child is doing right now and respond skilfully, rather than working through pre-written plans. This course shows you how to do it well — and how to keep curriculum intent and paperwork in healthy proportion.

What you’ll learn

  • What in-the-moment planning is — and the myths about what it isn’t
  • Noticing and responding to teachable moments as they happen
  • Quality interactions: the adult’s role in child-led play
  • Using the environment as your planning partner
  • Recording less and noticing more: proportionate paperwork
  • Introducing the approach in your setting without losing curriculum intent

On completion learners receive an NFAQ-accredited certificate as evidence for compliance and Ofsted.
