Anaphylaxis is a very rare but severe condition, it affects 1 in 1300 people in England and it can develop within people of all ages, it is slightly more common in females than males. Anaphylaxis is a potentially fatal allergic reaction from something someone is allergic too, such as a food. The reaction can happen within minutes and causes the immune system to go into shock, causing rashes, nausea and breathing problems.

This can be used to provide evidence for compliance and audit. The purpose of this qualification is for the update and continued professional development (CPD).
