Description
The whole-setting licence gives your nursery, pre-school or childminding business up to 100 places on Allergy Safety in the Early Years: Learning from Benedict’s Law for 12 months, for £150 + VAT. Once it is bought, the places appear in your setting’s organisation dashboard, where you assign them to staff, including new starters, bank and agency staff, students and volunteers who join during the year. Please buy the licence while signed in to your setting’s NNT account.
Benedict’s Law (section 34 of the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Act 2026) applies to schools, not to nurseries, pre-schools or childminders. The DfE’s “Allergy safety in schools” guidance recommends allergy awareness training at least once a year for all staff. For early years settings that is good practice, and the EYFS already expects every member of staff to know the children’s allergies and how to respond.
What every member of staff completes
- ✓ Benedict’s Law and Your Setting’s Duties
- ✓ Understanding Allergy and Anaphylaxis in Young Children
- ✓ Emergency Response and Adrenaline Devices
- ✓ Preventing Reactions: Food, Mealtimes and Play
- ✓ Allergy Information, Care Plans and Records
- ✓ Leading Allergy Safety in Your Setting
Each lesson has a narrated presentation, a written lesson and a five-question knowledge check. A final assessment (pass mark 80%) follows, and staff who pass receive their certificate straight away.
