Description

The child who covers their ears at singing time, chews their sleeve, crashes into furniture or melts down in a busy room may be telling you something important about how they process sensory information. This course helps you understand sensory differences and build an environment where every child can settle and learn.

What you’ll learn

  • What sensory processing is and how differences show up in young children
  • The eight senses — including vestibular, proprioception and interoception
  • Recognising sensory seeking, sensory avoidance and mixed profiles
  • Auditing your rooms for noise, light, clutter and calm spaces
  • Practical sensory strategies and activities that help children regulate
  • Sensory needs and behaviour, working with families and when to involve an occupational therapist

On completion learners receive an NFAQ-accredited certificate as evidence for compliance and Ofsted.
